Continuing his hectic bilateral parleys, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday held separate talks with the visiting Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and also his Thailand counterpart Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha.”Strategic partnership rooted in commercial, cultural and people-to-people contacts! PM @narendramodi had a productive discussion with Singapore’s PM @leehsienloong on economic and commercial ties,” MEA spokesman Raveesh Kumar tweeted.

Both the leaders held detailed discussions on issues concerning technology, tourism, enhanced connectivity and programmes related to ‘Smart Cities’ as undertaken by the central government.Singapore Prime Minister is also the Chairman of the ASEAN for 2018. On parleys with Thailand Prime Minister, the MEA spokesman said both sides held constructive dialogues on economic and commercial exchanges, connectivity, defense and security, cultural cooperation and people-to-people exchanges.

On Thursday, Mr. Modi held bilateral talks with the respective nation heads and leaders of Myanmar, Philippines, and Vietnam. The ASEAN nation heads are here to attend the ASEAN-India Commemorative Summit to be held here on Thursday and they would also grace the Republic Day celebrations on Friday as special guests of honor.
