South Africa defeated India by 135 runs in the Centurion Test on Wednesday, Chasing 287, India only managed to score 151. Resuming the last day of 2nd test at 35/3, India failed to recover in their second innings and surrendered to South Africa’s pace attack. Lungi Ngidi was the best bowler for the hosts, finishing with match figures of 7/90. Virat Kohli’s side had lost the first Test by 72 runs at Cape Town.
With this win South Africa has taken an unassailable 2-0 series lead and ended India’s record streak of nine consecutive series wins. The last time India lost a Test series was when Australia defeated them 2-0 in a four-match series in 2014-15. The last Test of the series will start from January 24 in Johannesburg.
